Description:

Diocesan wide consolidation of parishes served as catalyst for a new regional parish at the perimeter of the diocese.  Program evolved to include Church, K-8 School, Rectory and Office on single site. Design addressed Diocese’s “mission” to bring the Church to the edges of the Diocese – “Mission” style architectural aesthetic “unified” site functions into a campus.
Church’s open plan accomplished with 120’ custom long span steel trusses in cross form finished in wood and serve as main support system. A clerestory and arch windows in side Naves provide for natural lighting to augment pendant up-lighting.  Narthex has barrel vault transition connecting Nave and Entry arch windows as well as connecting Chapel and Sanctuary.  Interiors are wood trimmed with furniture and cabinetry to match.  Multi-zoned HVAC handles 4 quadrants from Utility rooms and mezzanine. Tower provides focus for the campus setting
In spite of multiple issues, DRCA maintained the budget allowing only a 2% overage on construction costs by using design modifications to mitigate contractor extras.
